| Information Made by: alms purse, gold laid and couched work, other types of embroidery I (the artist) prefer to call it an "aumoniere sarrazinoise". The reason is that this is the name it had according to guild regulations of that time period in France. It's also circa 1380, or what I imagine a purse would be like at that time, given what I researched. The two sides are named for illuminations from the Roman de la Rose, executed around 1380: "The God of Love Locks the Lover's Heart" and
