| Information Made by: This is a replica of a necklace from the 1st millennium b.c.e., now in the Corning Museum of Glass. Both the original and the replica are glass. The original has a matte finish, presumably from age. The replica is acid-etched to match it. The closest-matching colors were chosen from those made my modern art-glass manufacturers. The metals used to color glass have not changed significantly. The eyes are slices of a simple mosaic (millefiore) cane. The clasp is a modern toggle clasp. The original had no clasp shown, and I like toggles. Era: 1st century b.c.e. Seen at:
