Glass bottle

Information
Made by:

This bottle was created using lampwork techniques, where rods of glass are melted and shaped in a torch flame. The stem of this bottle was built around a mandrel, a metal rod. The body was built off the stem by coiling rounds of hot glass, just like making a clay pot. WHen the coils met at the bottom, a sealed pocket of air was created. As it was heated, it expanded, helping the bottle to puff out to a nice, round shape.

Era: modern
